Bertrand L’Herbette
was born and raised in Paris, but a spent holiday with his
family in the French countryside where
preparing feasts was an essential part of family life. Following
in the footsteps of Grandmother L’Herbette,
who ran a successful restaurant outside
of Lyon,
Bertrand began his career at the age of 16.
He returned to Paris to train under
renowned chefs at Le Dodin Bouffant,
Le Beauvilliers and Hotel Le Crillon. In 1983, Bertrand began his
international quest
to further his classical training first landing in Montreux, Switzerland,
then later, Koln, Germany and finally the United States, where he
worked at the famous
Le Pavillion Restaurant, favored by President and First Lady Reagan.
In 1986, Bertrand was head chef at La Miche restaurant in Bethesda,
but the dream
to have his own business soon took him to the island paradise of
St. Martin.
At the age of 24, Bertrand and his
American wife Jennifer, left the United States
to open Fabulous Feasts Gourmet Chef Service and Catering on the
French side
of St. Martin. It wasn’t long before this dynamic couple was
entertaining for world renowned celebrities and movie stars in this
exclusive villa community.
Fabulous Feasts St. Martin is now in its 16th year of operation,
providing
a variety of services to villa clients including private chef service,
butler service, weddings and corporate events, in flight catering
to private jets to name a few.
In 2004, Bertrand returned to
the United States to open Fabulous Feasts New Canaan, designed to
replicate its sister operation in St. Martin by providing upscale,
service oriented catering of gourmet international cuisine specializing
in chef and butler serviced dinner parties and cocktail parties. |
